DJ for corporate events: how to get the atmosphere right
Corporate events are different from a wedding or a birthday party: there's a brand behind it, a tone to maintain, and often guests who don't know each other. Here's how I usually approach the music in these cases.
Reception and cocktail
Low volume, elegant atmosphere. The goal is for people to be able to talk and network effortlessly.
Speeches and presentations
Here the sound has to be clear, and a quality wireless microphone is often needed so everyone can hear well from anywhere in the room.
Dinner
Background music, not the center of attention, that accompanies without interfering with conversations at the table.
The festive part
Once the company gives the go-ahead (usually after the speeches or dessert), I start to raise the tempo. This is where extras like the crazy hour, CO2 or cold sparks fit in, especially at Christmas parties or company anniversaries.
What companies value most
- Punctuality and discreet setup, without interfering with the event's organization.
- The ability to adapt the tone to what the company asks for (formal, informal, very festive).
- A single point of contact from start to finish: whoever sets up the equipment is the one playing it.
If you're organizing a corporate dinner, a Christmas party or an opening, tell me the type of event, the number of people and where it will take place, and I'll put together a tailored proposal.
Want to talk about your event?
Tell me the date, the venue and what you need, and I'll put together a tailored proposal. No fixed rates.
