DJ for weddings in Girona: what to keep in mind if you're getting married in the province

I'm from Palafrugell and I work mainly in the Baix Empordà, but a good part of the weddings I do each season are in other parts of the province of Girona: the Gironès, the Selva, the Alt Empordà and also the Garrotxa. Each area has its own quirks, and over the years you learn to take them into account from the very first quote.

Distance and travel

Working in Girona city, on the coast, or inland in the province isn't quite the same in terms of travel, although for me it all falls within my usual working area. The important thing is that we take it into account in the quote from the start, with no surprises.

Seaside venues vs. inland venues

On the coast (Palafrugell, Begur, Pals, L'Escala...) it's common to hold the wedding at venues with an open garden, or even close to the beach, which means thinking carefully about protecting the equipment from humidity and wind. Inland (Garrotxa, Gironès), masías with an enclosed hall are more common, where the challenge is usually the acoustics of the space.

Local regulations

Every town hall in the province has its own time regulations for events with music, and it can vary quite a bit from one town to another. It's something I always check before confirming the final timetable for the party.

High season on the coast

If you're getting married on the Costa Brava between June and September, it's a good idea to book well ahead of time: not just the DJ, but also the venue, the catering, and suppliers for extras like the photo booth or the 360 video tend to fill up their calendars fast around those dates.

Working alone, with my own equipment

Wherever the wedding is within the province, I bring my own sound and lighting equipment, and I'm the one who sets it up and plays it, from start to finish. That means that, even when the area changes, the way I work and the level of attention to detail always stay the same.
