Photo booth for weddings: why it's one of the most requested extras

Of all the extras I offer alongside my DJ service, the photo booth is one of the first to get booked up during high season. And it makes sense: it's the only extra that every single guest takes home with them, literally, in the form of a printed photo.

What it includes

A booth or photo station with a camera, studio lighting and a touchscreen, with instant printing. Guests take their photo, pick up the printed copy right away, and it's also saved digitally for the bride and groom.

Why it works so well at a wedding

Unlike other extras that depend on one specific moment (like the crazy hour or the surprise dance), the photo booth works all night long. It becomes a gathering point: people come and go, different combinations of guests group together, and by the end of the night you have a whole album made by the guests themselves, completely unposed.

How I set it up alongside the music

I place it near the dance floor, but without interfering with the sound or with people's path to the bar. The idea is for it to be visible, without competing with the space where people dance. If the venue is tight on space, we work out the best corner together before the day of the event.

Props and personalisation

The print template can be personalised with the names and the date, and props can be added (glasses, hats, signs) if the bride and groom want a more fun touch. It also works perfectly without props, with a more elegant backdrop, depending on the style of the wedding.

Can it be combined with other extras?

Yes, in fact it's common to combine it with the 360 video or the wedding podcast: each one captures a different memory (printed photo, slow-motion video, guests' voices), and between the three of them they cover practically everything that happens at the party.
